- Precook the Italian sausage. If I am thinking ahead, I will smoke it ahead of time. If not, I just boil it for about 12-15 minutes. You could also precook it in the oven. Just need to be able to cut it up without it falling apart.

- Herbed Linguine:
- Bring a pot of salted water to a roiling boil. Add one tsp olive oil (this helps prevent noodles from sticking to pot and adds a bit of flavor).
- Add pasta and cook to desired doneness (about 15 minutes for al dente).
- When pasta is cooked how you like it, drain, and place in large bowl. Add 2nd tbsp of olive oil, parsley, and basil. Toss to coat.
- Serve:
- Place sausage and peppers marinara over pasta. Top with a good parmesan or similar cheese.
